What Volinko currently supports, where it works, and what you need to use it. Volinko is an invite-only beta, so some features are limited or not yet available.

Where it works

Use your US number from anywhere

Your number is a US number that travels with you over the internet.

From abroad

You can use your US number from outside the United States over WiFi or mobile data. There is no roaming; calls and texts run over your internet connection.

Calling destinations

Outbound calling is limited to numbers in the United States and Canada. Calls to other countries are not supported.

Android

In closed / internal testing. Access requires an invite. Request one at hello@volinko.com.

iOS

Not yet available. There is no App Store release at this time.

Requirements

Device & capabilities

Device / OS

Android 7.0 or newer (minSdk 24). A modern browser or WebView is used inside the app. An internet connection (WiFi or mobile data) is required.

Calling destinations

US and Canada numbers only. Certain high-fraud NANP area codes are blocked for outbound calls.

Text messaging (SMS)

You can receive SMS text messages. Verification-code delivery is not guaranteed — whether a given sender delivers a code is decided by that sender. MMS (picture / group messaging) is not supported yet.

Emergency calling

No 911 or E911 support. Always keep a mobile carrier or landline that can dial 911 for emergencies.

Invite-only beta. Activation requires a valid payment card processed through Stripe. Billing is $4.99/month per account, one US number per account.
